These monthly equivalents are for comparison. Annual and weekly bills will arrive on their own billing dates.

What this calculation assumes

Monthly charges are multiplied by 12; weekly charges by 52; yearly charges are counted once. These are annualized comparisons, not a calendar billing forecast.

The formula

Annualized cost = charge × billing periods per year. Monthly equivalent = annualized cost ÷ 12. Potential saving = total annualized cost − kept annualized cost.

The Keep checkbox includes that subscription in the kept-cost scenario. Uncheck a subscription to model removing its future recurring cost.

Timing and rounding

Charges are assumed constant. A weekly price uses exactly 52 payments; a particular calendar year may contain 53 charge dates. We show monthly equivalents for comparison even when the bill is collected once a year.

Where the model stops

Unchecking a service does not cancel it or create a refund. Renewal dates, trial periods, price changes, taxes, cancellation fees and refunds are not included. Past annual payments are sunk costs unless the provider refunds them.

Questions about this tool

Does potential saving mean money I get back today?

No. It is the annualized future charge removed from the comparison. You must check the provider’s cancellation and refund terms separately.

Why is a weekly charge more than four times the monthly amount?

A month is not exactly four weeks. We use 52 charges per year and divide by 12, which gives about 4.333 weekly charges per monthly equivalent.
